As a company which shows support to initiatives that encourage training, Mentor has agreed to be the official sponsor of The Logistics Awards Safety category, brought to you by SHD Logistics.
SHD: What are the most important safety measures in a warehouse in 2017?
Mentor: One of most effective things you can do to guarantee the safety of your workplace (and protect your bottom line) is to provide your workforce with regular, relevant training.
This includes everyone: the operators using MHE, those working alongside them and the managers and supervisors responsible for overseeing safety.
Although training goes a long way to improving safety, it must be part of a wider, more holistic approach, which includes all aspects of a company’s operations.
SHD: Why is it important to recognise safety at The Logistics Awards?
Mentor: Many improvements to safety in logistics can be made in relatively simple, low cost ways. While ever there are avoidable accidents and injuries taking place, we can and should be raising awareness of best practice and encouraging improvement. By showcasing the work of those who have made a commitment to safety, others can be encouraged to follow suit, meaning needless accidents are easily prevented and more people go home safe at the end of their working day.
