After a number of successful Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) projects - many of them with blue chip companies - turnover for Soft Design has tripled.
Soft Design has supplied MAXAGV products to the UK market for nearly 30 years. In the last couple of years, however, Soft Design has seen a large increase in demand for its products, and in two years turnover has nearly tripled. Some reasons behind this recent success is the addition of some major company names in its customer portfolio and its large number of successful AGV installations – particularly in the UK.
“These days we are certainly busy, since the number of customer inquiries for our products have dramatically increased," says UK sales director Tony Hughes. “But we certainly can’t complain; it is great to see that more and more companies are discovering the benefits which our products can offer them.”
Soft Design offers AGV systems under the brand name of MAXAGV with unique control software called Max. It is the Max software which allow the AGVs to operate on their own.
Company headquarters are in Sweden, but Soft Design has its sales director located in the UK. Hughes explains further: “There are a small number of AGV companies in the market, but the unique thing about MAXAGV is that both the vehicles and software can be adapted to the customer’s specific needs. We can do this because we have complete control over our products, both AGV and Max.
"We also offer support throughout the whole process, from the first sales meeting to service and maintenance of the customer’s AGV system. An AGV system is often a large investment for a company and will be used for many years to come. It can have a life expectancy of over 10 years – sometimes much longer. We believe that customers appreciate the experience and support we can offer along the way of your investment.”
Soft Design will be exhibiting at IMHX 2016 on stand 9F57.
