A manufacturer specialising in plastic food boxes and kitchen bins has taken the last available warehouse at Manchester’s Stakehill industrial estate, stepping up pressure on the region’s logistics sector.
Landlord CEG, represented jointly by Savills and WHR, has let the last remaining warehouse at Stakehill Industrial Estate in Middleton to TS (UK) Limited, the UK arm of an Italian domestic plastics business. The deal takes the park, which was 45% empty when acquired by clients of CEG in 2012, to fully let.
TS (UK) Limited has taken 44,612 sq ft of extra floorspace, paying a rent of £5.75 a sq ft. They already occupy 108,000 sq ft at the site.
The estate includes 46 modern and refurbished warehouse units, with occupiers including Yodel, DHL and Scania. It is accessed direct from the A627(M) which links to the M62, and also has a strong presence of local companies based on its proximity to Rochdale, Oldham and Manchester city centre.
