Two new developments at Manchester Airport will help boost the next phase of growth at one of the North West’s fastest growing logistics hubs.
American investor TPG and partner Stoford Developments have signed The Hut Group to open a 168,000 sq ft logistics and global content creation studio in Manchester.
The development at the 45-acre Icon site, Airport City North, will include a 104,000 sq ft warehouse.
The site is close to junction 6 of the M56 motorway and the World Freight Terminal.
In a separate move, a warehouse close to Manchester Airport is to be refurbished.
South Street Capital advised by Knight Frank is investing £3m in the 100,000 sq ft redevelop0ment.
The unit at Southmoor Industrial Estate is close to the Metrolink tram stop with a direct commute to city centre Manchester and good local facilities within walking distance.
The refurbishment is part of a comprehensive review of the Southmoor Estate which was acquired for clients by SCC late last year for just over £12m.
The entire estate amounts to more than 333,000 sq ft of industrial and office accommodation and active management to take it into its next phase will see further strategic refurbishment and configuration of assets.
