East Midlands Airport could see up to 400,000 sq ft of new transit and cargo floorspace, and warehouses of 20,000-50,000 sq ft.
A new masterplan has been revealed by the airports owners, Manchester Airports Group.
The plan makes plots available from 2 acres to 30 acres, close to junction 23a of the M1 motorway.
Lynda Shillaw, recently appointed divisional chief executive for property at Manchester Airports Group, said: “East Midlands Airport is the UK's hub for air cargo, and this highly connected location offers the region a wealth of strong development opportunities, across a variety of sectors and uses.
“The masterplan that we are developing has identified some strong opportunities for further transit, logistics and office space clustered around the airport site.
“It is an exciting time for MAG Property; we are a national operator with a £600m property portfolio throughout the UK with over 600 acres of development land available. Our proposal at East Midlands is just one of many significant projects we have in the pipeline across the whole country.”
