Do you feel, as an industry, we are committed to a responsible environmental agenda?

Yes, generally the industry is committed to a responsible environmental agenda but more needs to be done by all parties to ensure our visions and goals become a reality. As an industry we are benefitting from the unprecedented growth of e-commerce – this growth has no signs of slowing so it’s imperative that together, we make a commitment to reduce its impact along every step of the supply chain. Reducing vehicle emissions is a key challenge and the increased availability of low emission vehicles will support this, so long as these vehicles are cost effective and infrastructure exists to support this.

Technological advancements, such as harnessing the power of data through machine learning, allows the industry to predict patterns and optimally use resources, once again reducing emissions and waste. In summary, yes, we are all committed to a greener future but ultimately results don’t come from commitment, they come from action.
