SHD Logistics has released a definitive list of the most influential logisticians in the UK. The Logistics 100, compiled by an independent judging panel, the Logistics 100 is measured on a variety of criteria, centred by operational strength. The key considerations also include influence, driving change, engagement, rising star potential and outside influencers, the latter two with which SHD has compiled separate lists for.
Members of the 2019 Logistics 100 give their thoughts on the most pressing issues within their sectors. This week, we hear from Gousto's logistics head Bobby Amirahmadi.
Bobby Amirahmadi
Head of Logistics
Gousto
Bobby is responsible for driving change and innovation in food delivery. Bobby has worked in the food industry, specialising in Transport and Logistics since 2008, ranging from start-ups to large multi-national businesses.
SHD: How is Gousto making waves in the last mile?
Bobby: At Gousto we encourage our 3PL's to embrace "coopetiton" (competitive cooperation). Perishable goods have to be delivered right first time, every time, so if one partner is struggling, we can despatch a back-up driver from another partner to ensure a successful delivery, and of course keep our customer updated every step of the way.
SHD: How could logistics businesses adapt in 2019 to stay apace with consumer behaviour/technology?
Bobby: Work together! Our industry is growing so fast that we don't need to fight over the scraps, there is more than enough business to go round. Driving up service level is key to unlocking our industry's full potential, and sharing knowledge and resource will be the most effective way to grow all of our businesses.
