Kuehne & Nagel’s new 195,547sq ft national overland hub is now complete.
Construction work on the 17-acre plot at SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway. The firm relocates from premises in Nottingham and Birmingham.
The facility includes a 40,000sq ft temperature controlled area for pharmaceutical products, offices and staff amenities.
The new facility goes live after the Easter break.
The Gateway park is multi-modal logistics hub which will provide 6 million sq ft of warehousing over 700 acres. Segro say that 2.5 million sq ft has already been contracted to occupiers.
Located adjacent to East Midlands Airport, the site offers direct access to the M1 and the UK road network and will include a 50-acre rail freight interchange which Maritime Transport will operate, beginning in Autumn 2019.
The rail freight interchange forms part of a £100million infrastructure programme which includes Kegworth Bypass, a new route connecting the site to the M1 via a bridge over the motorway, a public bus terminal and extensive highway improvement works.
