Following the recent Fireball world championship success of one of its employees and his team mate, Kite has offered to sponsor the sailing pair.
Richard Anderton, commercial manager of Kite's Portsmouth branch, along with his team-mate Tom Gillard, successfully defended their 2015 title in the Fireball world championships to become 2016 Fireball World Champions.
The event comprised a series of 10 races over six days, with the best eight results from the series counting towards the final score.
The success was highly regarded by all Kite employees, and the group has now announce sponsorship of Anderton and Gillard. Kite says it understands the true importance of partnerships and how a strong partnership can achieve great results. By providing Anderton and Gillard with sponsorship, they can continue their time on the water and working towards further success.
Anderton commented: “Kite’s sponsorship will really impact our ability to perform at events. Over the course of a year we have to invest a lot into the boat and campaign to keep ourselves at the front of the fleet, with equipment that is up to the job.
"The environment can be tough, and it’s important to know we have reliable equipment. We spend a lot of time training and competing at events, again Kite’s sponsorship enables us to spend more time on the water, and this has a direct impact on our results – performance is directly related to team work, and we spend a lot of time working on that partnership.”
