JLL launches supply chain consultancy arm

JLL has announced the expansion of its capabilities into supply chain consultancy. The new practice is designed to help clients to maximise efficiencies across their supply chain by helping them to unlock the value of their physical infrastructure, and incorporate these factors into their real estate strategy. Supply chain resilience is an increasingly important factor when influencing commercial property decisions, and the JLL team can now provide organisations with the insight to optimise their warehouse location choices and aid sizing facilities based on optimal material flows and work processes.

The rise of e-commerce and shifting consumption patterns have continued to drive the requirement of supply chains to continually adapt and evolve; to deliver on these last-mile capabilities, the need to maintain and develop an agile supply chain is rising on the real estate agenda. Businesses are now drilling down on the fact that an effective and efficient supply chain can not only improve margins but also help generate revenue through increasing adaptability and effective network flexibility]. The team will be able to provide strategic advice on the next best location to unlock value, based on network design, supply chain data and deep industry insight.

Andy Harding, Lead Director of Industrial and Logistics at JLL, said: “The Industrial and Logistics team at JLL is focused on a growth plan which continues at pace, advising a wide range of clients seeking access to industrial opportunities across the UK. As the industry experiences significant growth, we see an important opportunity to incorporate supply chain insight into more informed and strategic services, allowing our clients to strengthen their real estate decisions. This is an exciting time for the team as we augment our offerings and knowledge capabilities for investors, developers and occupiers.”

The team will be led by Simon McWilliams, who brings a wealth of experience directly from the logistics industry, having spent over ten years with DHL Supply Chain, and at Ceva Logistics and TNT prior to that. The team will also benefit from the strategic guidance of Emma Hawkins, an experienced supply chain professional, bringing supply chain and real estate expertise from the development team at DP World London Gateway. Launching in January, this growing focus on supply chain expertise will serve to broaden the scope of advice and services available to JLL clients.
