James and James recruits ex-Thomas Cook MD to its Board

James and James, the fast growing e-fulfilment provider, has strengthened its Board with the appointment of Salman Syed as Non-Executive Director. Mr Syed was formerly Managing Director of Thomas Cook and led the successful transformation of the UK business.

Coming hot on the heels of winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise last month, James and James believes this will be an invaluable appointment as it focuses on consolidating its position as a global player in retail fulfilment systems. Its innovative Cloud-based approach is a faster, more accurate and more flexible way for e-retailers to meet their customers’ fulfilment needs.

Mr Syed brings with him global leadership experience in both consumer and technology distribution companies.  He was President at Premier Farnell plc, where he led the build of Asia Pacific and served as the Head of Global Innovation. He is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Salman commented:  "I am thrilled to be joining the Board and working with the founders of James and James to take this fast growing and successful company to the next level in e-commerce fulfilment.  Their vision of enabling clients to manage their online fulfilment globally from any device instantly and simply is a compelling one.  It delivers a service that the world of e-commerce desperately needs."

“We are delighted to welcome Salman to our Board”, said James Hyde, Commercial Director of James and James. “He brings a depth of expertise in transformation and innovation that will be invaluable as we enter this exciting international growth phase.”
