Jaguar Land Rover have ended months of speculation by signing up for 225,000 sq ft at Prologis Park, Ryton.
The deal sees the car maker take the speculatively-built unit to serve as Jaguar Land Rover’s new special vehicles operations technical centre.
The centre, which is part of Jaguar Land Rover’s recently launched special operations division, will be the company’s global hub for the creation of high-end luxury bespoke commissions and high-performance vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover will invest £20 million in specialist equipment and a customer commissioning suite, and plans to make the facility operational by the end of this year.
The building, completed this May, is close to Jaguar Land Rover’s headquarters.
Gerald Eve, NRS and JLL acted for Prologis.
