March will be a busy month for ELOKON, the supplier of safety and assistance systems for industrial vehicles, forklifts, AGVs and cobots. The company will be exhibiting its products on both sides of the Atlantic: in Stuttgart at LogiMAT and in Atlanta at the MODEX show.
At both of these events ELOKON will be promoting the message that safety and productivity go hand in hand. Its safety solutions are based on the use of smart technology such as that used in the automotive industry which not only makes the warehouse a safer place but also a more cost effective and efficient one. Products include collision warning systems, mobile personnel protection devices, fleet management systems and radar-based systems for speed reduction.
The award-winning designated safety system ELOprotect ensures that safe distances are maintained between forklifts and personnel in VNA warehouses, preventing accidents between trucks and pedestrians, as well as vehicle-to-vehicle collisions. The evaluation electronics, laser scanners and display and operating modules incorporated in ELOprotect automatically activate when a truck enters the aisle and if a person, other forklifts or obstacles are detected they emit warnings and can bring the vehicle to a standstill. This allows two or more VNA trucks to safely operate simultaneously in one aisle for faster and more productive load cycles.
ELOshield is a UWB-based proximity detection and collision warning system which can create warning and protection zones. Configured according to a customer’s exact requirements, these provide a protective buffer around moving forklifts. Modules attached to trucks or carried by personnel monitor movement, detect their location and emit warnings if they are too close to each other. The new ELOshieldSPEED speed control option automatically slows down vehicles in high risk areas such as production facilities where cobots, AGVs and humans work in close proximity to each other. Once the vehicle exits this defined area, its original speed is automatically resumed.
ELOKON’s MD Alexander Glasmacher will be hosting a seminar at MODEX on “Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems for Industrial Vehicles” and the company’s Sales Director Andreas Folz will be speaking on the potential applications for wearables in the intralogistics sector at LogiMAT.
If your plans don’t include a trip to Germany or the US, there’s plenty of advice and information on ELOKON’s website, www.elokon.com so take a look to stay safe and productive.
