Intermodal Asia will return to Shanghai from 22nd – 24th March 2016. Last year the second annual Intermodal Asia saw a growth of 30%, as an influx of over 7,000 visitors joined 130 exhibitors and over 40 speakers across three days at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC).
“The success of Intermodal Asia 2015 fully established the event as Asia’s annual exhibition and conference for the container, transport and logistics industries,” says Sophie Ahmed, Event Director. “Now in its third year, Intermodal Asia has received even more industry support from associations, international and local exhibitors, high-level speakers, new media partners and senior industry professionals in the run-up to the event in March.”
Intermodal Asia is organised by Informa Exhibitions, in partnership with the CCIA (China Container Industry Associates) and The Integrated Transport Federation of The China Communications and Transportation Association (CCTA), as well as benefiting from the full support of the world’s largest container manufacturer, CIMC (China International Marine Containers).
“The 1st Intermodal Asia Exhibition was successfully launched in Shanghai in 2014 and it has become a key platform for the joint development of Asian intermodal and container industry,” explains Bo Liang Mai, Chairman of the CCIA, CEO & President of CIMC.
“It provides the perfect opportunity for global industry professionals to come together in China to network, do business and encourage the healthy and sustainable development of modern intermodal transport. We sincerely welcome and look forward to your participation in March in Shanghai.”
The Intermodal Asia 2016 conference programme will once again feature three free-to-attend conference theatres within the exhibition hall. The programme will present the opportunity to explore the current trends and issues faced by the intermodal industry, focusing on strategy and perspectives, latest innovations and the newest technological solutions. Sessions include: Global economic outlook for the container industry by Drewry; Cyber security in the Maritime Industry by the Security Association for the Maritime Industry (SAMI); The China-Central Asia-Western Asia Corridor by the International Transport Union; and an Intra-Asia Cold Chain Logistics Forum.
“Last year was a challenging year for the industry as a whole and now, more than ever, it is important that the industry comes together to discuss these challenges being faced and how best we can work together to push the industry forward,” adds Ahmed.
Once again, Intermodal Asia will receive full support from @tco, the Asian Tank Container Organisation. “I am pleased to confirm that @tco will be supporting Intermodal Asia again in Shanghai,” says Reginald Lee, President of @tco.
“@tco and its members believe that this is now being seen as the premiere container, transport and logistics Event in China. Intermodal Asia gives us the opportunity to invite our members and suppliers to attend our organised forum, highlighting the safe handling of tank containers in the Asia Pacific market, as well as allowing us to come together as an industry to network.”
There are multiple events confirmed to take place during the three days of Intermodal Asia 2016. The Port of Shanghai Tour will take place once again, free of charge to all registered visitors to Intermodal Asia on Wednesday 23rd March. Those who attend will have the opportunity to see first-hand the cargo handling operations inside the world’s largest container port.
Plus, new to Intermodal Asia this year, CIMC will hold an exclusive Tour of its new Reefer Factory on Thursday 24th March. Registrations for these events is now open.
