Over more than 50 years, Mecalux has built a reputation as one of the leading storage systems companies on the market. It acts as a one-stop provider in the UK, implementing the right mix of product solutions: warehouse management software, automation of warehouses, metal racking and internal conveyor systems. Our design, manufacture and sale of these, and many more top solutions, puts us in a unique position to help businesses grow in the UK.

By working with a technological partner like Mecalux, customers gain a competitive edge – according to the company – with comprehensive solutions and storage designs tailored to their facilities

Customer success stories

Ongoing customer projects are being launched through our UK office with businesses around the country. For example, Mecalux recently collaborated with the sports retailing giant Decathlon in setting up its picking warehouse, which can now supply product to point of sales and fulfil online orders of its products in the UK. Household name Churchill China has increased productivity by 10% with new pallet racks and expanded its picking space by 40% with Mecalux shelving for picking.

On the other hand, the home décor and furniture company Dwell now locates 22,000 pallets of goods in double- and single-depth pallet racking from Mecalux for higher product outflows. Another example is Hepco Motion a linear motion systems specialist which optimised a new space with speciality cantilever racks custom mounted on Movirack mobile bases. Yamazaki went fully automated and perfectly organised all its parts in an Automated Warehouse for Boxes run by a stacker crane, modernising its traditional warehouse operations.

Automated warehouses

Automated storage and retrieval solutions run a warehouse’s reception, storage and order processing operations for palletised items. The results are an increase in productivity, lower costs and improved speed and safety in your warehouse.

Robust pallet racks are run by Mecalux’s top-of-the-line stacker cranes, representing an affordable, simple, low maintenance way to automate a warehouse. The handling equipment reduces errors in stock management and improves safety in moving goods. They adapt to special working conditions such as freezing temperatures (-30º C), extreme humidity or can include special features, such as the possibility of increasing standard working speeds.

The conveyor systems are an ideal addition to the above. Improving the efficiency of processes, they are integral in the receipt, handling and dispatch of pallets. As an extension of an automated warehouse, they connect warehouse areas, ensuring fast delivery of materials and merchandise in-house. Pallet conveyor systems mean high performance, fully automated product manipulation, with a wide range of versatile components for different applications.

Pallet racks and picking shelves

Mecalux’s high-quality industrial racking for pallet storage is the core of any organised warehouse. Pallet racking can be selective for direct access to each pallet or accumulative for higher storage capacity. Made from certified high-strength steel and a coat of durable powder mean the structure is rigid, reliable and safe. Rack heights and aisle widths are tailored to the in-warehouse lifting devices, the pallet sizes used and the dimensions of each warehouse.

Industrial metal picking shelves are designed to store individual boxes or single products. With the boom of e-commerce and single-unit orders, shelving for picking is the ideal system for goods which are stored and retrieved manually. From shelf variants for hand picking of medium to heavy goods to live storage channels, these shelving systems provide perfect access and turnover.
