iForce, the fastest-growing supply chain business in the UK, has been chosen by Aldi to support the launch and future growth of its e-commerce platform for ‘non-food’ products.
The retailer has awarded iForce a long-term contract to provide a range of fulfilment services as it looks to develop its online proposition and grow its market share across the UK.
Aldi is utilising iForce Gateway, the fulfilment solution powered by the proprietary software SMART, from the supply chain specialist’s multi-client warehouse in Corby, Northamptonshire. The retailer deployed Gateway to maximise the efficiency of its fulfilment model ahead of the online launch of its wine range in January.
Following the initial success of the wine operation, Aldi has now expanded the range of products available online. The Specialbuys include items such as handheld vacuums, coffee machines, lawnmowers and blenders.
iForce’s team of supply chain experts designed a bespoke fulfilment model for Aldi, which was then refined during a valuable beta testing period late last year. This collaboration between iForce and Aldi ensured the retailer’s ecommerce platform was efficiently launched on time and to budget.
Aldi is also operating iForce Pathfinder, the company’s innovative carrier management solution that is supported by the Route Genie software. This ensures the retailer can achieve the best carrier options in terms of pricing and customer service.
