Beleaguered retailer House of Fraser has again closed its distribution centre sites in Wellingborough and Milton Keynes, according to a report from Drapers.
The closure of the sites originally stemmed from disagreements over delivery payment terms with House of Fraser’s new owners Sports Direct and site operators XPO Logistics. The sites had reopened on August 24, according to Drapers, but it now seems apparent the dispute has now flared up again.
House of Fraser took the decision to take its website down earlier this month following a financial dispute with XPO, who were reportedly owed more than £30m, a figure which an undisclosed source representing XPO has since claimed as “grossly exaggerated”. The disagreement has resulted in XPO to stop accepting goods and processing deliveries for the retailer.
The House of Fraser continues to remain offline, instead redirecting customers to Sports Direct’s high end clothing retailer Flannels.
