Honeywell's new voice software claims further productivity and accuracy benefits

Honeywell has announced that its new voice-directed productivity software, Guided Work Solutions, is allowing fast-paced distribution centres to improve productivity by up to 35 percent and accuracy by up to 50 percent.

Honeywell’s hands-free, eyes-free solution for small-medium size enterprises, allows workers to receive data through voice prompts, saving time and reducing the risk of errors. The AndroidTM run application also minimises technology investment costs. As Guided Work Solutions can be configured and deployed based on warehouse/DC requirements, it can be easily added into already used systems instead of having to repurchase additional software or make additional IT investments to integrate.

The software is based on the company’s industry-leading Vocollect voice technology and is fully integrated with both Microsoft Dynamics 365 warehouse module, which enables distribution centres to better manage inventory, plan work and support customer requests and SAP Business One®, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform designed for small and medium enterprise distribution centres.

“There are still many distribution centres that rely on error-prone, paper-based processes which in the long run end up affecting efficiency and success as a business. Our technology, which allows workers to keep their eyes on the task and leaves their hands free, is supporting them in working more efficiently. With our new Guided Work Solutions, we can help small- and medium-sized enterprises deploy the same voice-directed technology used by some of the world’s largest and most complex fulfilment operations,” said Bill Birnie, General Manager of Voice Solutions for Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions.

Partnering with Microsoft helps simplify and standardise workflows, which results in speeding up training times for new workers by up to 50 percent. Further, the integration with SAP supports workers with common warehouse work processes such as order picking, receiving, replenishment and cycle counting. Since workers can receive instructions and capture data hands-free and eyes-free, they can perform their tasks more efficiently, accurately and safely.
