A new 2.4 million sq ft phase of the Logistics North development, Bolton, is to be built.
Developer Harworth has disclosed the purchase of a 73-acre site at Wingates, adjacent to the 220-acre Logistics North scheme.
They are also building ten smaller units – a total of 564,000 sq ft – in partnership with Lancashire County Pension Fund.
The site close to junction 6 of the M61 will keep up momentum at the Bolton site, which has scored as series of deals including signings by Whistl, who agreed to take 225,000 sq ft
In a separate move, Harworth has won planning consent for a 1.5m sq ft logistics development on the site of the UK’s last deep mine, Kellingley Colliery, west of Leeds near Castleford.
Harworth’s interim results also disclosed options signed on two sites in the North West and preferred bidder positions secured on a further four sites in the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
