A former Shell site in south Manchester is to see a 220,000 sq ft development.

The 1600 acre Carrington site, close to junction 8 of the M60 Manchester Orbital motorway, has a long and tangled planning history. Logistics development was first mooted in 2013 as the economy recovered from recession.
Himon’s plans have survived a challenge from rival developers Peel over the cost of infrastructure works which will help support the site.
