The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has announced the appointment of Lee Medway as its first Quality Manager. According to Association Chief Executive Peter Harvey, “This will further ensure that we deliver on our promise to maintain the highest standards in our industry and also provides the potential for the FLTA to fulfil the role of an accrediting body”.
A Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute, Medway joins the Association following a distinguished career in aerospace engineering management with the Royal Air Force. There, among other highly relevant positions, Medway was Quality Manager accountable for all quality, continuous improvement (QCI), safety, health, environment and fire activities.
Importantly, for this new role, Medway developed and conducted compliance audits, to ensure that the organisation was following its procedures and legislative policies.
“Lee will not only be responsible for auditing all members of the Association and ensuring they adhere fully to our Code of Practice, he will also provide a key communication channel to help make certain that we maximise the benefits of membership,” adds Harvey.
A keen windsurfer for more than 25 years, Medway took up kitesurfing two years ago and also enjoys skiing and snowboarding. A passionate lover of live music, he is a regular attendee at music festivals.
