Earlier this year, Barfoots of Botley won the SHD Logistics Award for Sustainability/Environment. At the London Transport Museum, on the 19th of March 2015, our winner will present its strategy at the SHD Logistics Conference: Delivering Supply Chain Operational Operations.

How often do food distributors share their strategy on sustainability? At the SHD Logistics Conference, delegates will find out, from logistics manager David Cooper, all about Barfoots of Botley's transition from lead-acid batteries to new technology from Jungheinrich.

David also plans to discuss how the company capitalised on the green energy from its own anaerobic digester, operational since 2010, to utilise its own vegetable waste.

The SHD Logistics Conference will provide an opportunity to learn, network and debate ahead of the evening’s celebrations. Taking place on the same day as the SHD Logistics Awards, the conference will include presentations on operational excellence within safety, environment and innovation.

Speakers will also include Award winners from Babcock International Devonport and Europa Worldwide Logistics - companies recognised by the industry for delivering outstanding achievements - and each session will be followed with a questions and answers session moderated by SHD Logistics editor Peter MacLeod.

The right workforce enables operational excellence, which is why the conference will also include a masterclass on employer-led education programmes, offering delegates advice on how they can develop their own scheme.
