Finalists revealed for The Logistics Awards 2018

Finalists revealed for The Logistics Awards 2018

Retailers Ocado, John Lewis and Sainsbury’s head a stellar list of finalists for this year’s edition of The Logistics Awards. View the full shortlist here.

A record number of entries were received for this year’s event, with the winners of 16 awards categories to be announced at the annual awards gala, taking place on Thursday 20th September at The Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe in London.

Due to the large number of entries received, the New Facility category has been split into two separate categories by order of warehouse size of over and under 150,000sq ft. Sainsbury’s, Hermes, XPO Logistics with Ted Baker and ASOS head an illustrious list of names in the 150,000+ sq ft category.

Both Operations Large and SME (sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK) and Technology Innovation Large and SME categories will be fiercely contested, with Honda, Heineken and John Lewis contending in the Operations Large category, and Sainsbury’s, John Lewis and Ocado also amongst a strong list of names in the Technology Innovation Large category.

Who will be taking home one of these at The Logistics Awards 2018?

Safety (sponsored by Mentor), Warehouse Efficiency and Innovation (sponsored by Continental Tyres) awards are also highly competitive.

Last month, an independent panel of judges, including new members Wincanton’s Marcos Hart, Scala Consulting’s Dave Howorth and Health and Safety Executive’s Alan Craddock, all assembled to produce this year's shortlist of outstanding projects and to decide the winners of each category, including this year's Overall Winner.

The Logistics Awards, now in its fifth year, celebrates the best logistics projects over the past 12 months. Taking place at the Shakespeare’s Globe along London’s South Bank, as many as 350 guests across the UK logistics industry are anticipated to be in attendance. In celebration of this milestone, The Logistics Awards will host a new special category for the 2018 edition – the Winner of Winners (WoW award) – the best Overall Winner over the past four years, which includes this year’s award recipient.

As with every year, the judging panel also decide on a winner of the Winner of Winners prize. Marks & Spencer (2014), Kellogg’s with Voiteq (2015), Clipper Logistics with John Lewis (2016) and Pharmacy2U (2017) will contest to win the WoW Award along with the 2018 Overall Award winner.
