Enter RTITB International Operator of the Year Competition 2016

Do you have one of the best fork lift operators in the world working for you? RTITB is reminding all employers that there is just one month left to enter their trained forklift drivers for the International Operator of the Year Competition 2016.

Companies are encouraged to request an entry pack right away so that their drivers can participate in the first stage of the competition before entries close on 1st July. It’s not too late to celebrate the operational skill amongst your team and gain a valuable insight into your forklift (FLT) drivers’ abilities.

Entries for the International Operator of the Year Competition have been open since 4th April and FLT drivers from many global businesses have already been online for the first part of the contest with their employers receiving invaluable feedback on their performance.  The initial online test phase covers practical skills, underpinning knowledge, attitude, pre-use inspection knowledge and efficiency skills. After the closing date, the 40 entrants with the best test scores will be invited to participate in the round of live heats at the IMHX, one of Europe’s top intralogistics exhibitions, in September.

IMHX 2019

International Operator of the Year aims to recognise and celebrate the hard work, talent and safe practices of the UK’s best lift truck operators and is a great opportunity for drivers to showcase their skills in front of an international audience,” says Laura Nelson, Managing Director at RTITB. “It is also a great opportunity for employers to show the quality of the forklift training they provide and the resulting calibre of their drivers.”

This year employers can also benefit from RTITB’s brand new feedback and benchmarking reports which will list the participant’s strengths and weaknesses while also comparing their performance to other operators around the world.  This gives employers clear guidance on the targeted training that drivers need and shows the level of employees’ skill in comparison to other drivers.

After the heats at IMHX, the top 10 operators will go on to compete for the title on 17th November 2016 where they will be tested with a final series of live challenges based on theory knowledge and skills, along with operational abilities in front of a live audience.

The evening following the Grand Final also sees the RTITB Awards 2016 at the Telford Spa and Golf Club, where the winner is announce amongst other industry awards.  The awards recognise best practice across lift truck training and operations, with categories for operators, trainers and managers among others.

Companies have until 31st August to complete their entries and be in the running to receive an Award – an accolade which not only shows industry peers that a business has achieved excellence in materials handling, but also demonstrates investment in people, operations and safety.
