ELOKON launches world’s first smartphone-based forklift fleet management system

Forklift safety and assistance systems supplier ELOKON has something special to unveil at LogiMAT 2019: ELOfleet4 is the world’s first forklift fleet management system to be controlled by an app. This can be installed on a customer’s existing smartphones and tablets, making it easier and more cost-effective to control forklift access, perform safety checklists, monitor impacts, and manage system data.

“Our new ELOfleet4 solution represents a game-changing advance in forklift management,” said ELOKON Managing Director Alexander Glasmacher, “and we look forward to showing its capabilities to LogiMAT visitors. In addition to simplifying access control and safety management, the app enables customers to individualise their own branded versions and customise their own safety messages.”

ELOfleet4 is OEM-independent and can be installed on any type of truck — whatever brand, age, or drive type. It is ideal for mixed fleets, but also provides a simpler, cost-effective alternative for managing single-brand fleets. Software can be installed in the cloud, for easy data management and analysis across multiple sites, or on a local server inside a customer's firewall.

Other highlights on ELOKON’s stand include an updated version of ELOprotect – a mobile personnel detection safety system for very narrow aisle trucks. This is now available with a new laser scanner with a longer detection range allowing for higher speeds and increased productivity. Its reduced size makes it much easier to be integrated with all VNA trucks.

Also on display is the UWB-based protection system ELOshield, which creates flexibly programmable  protective shields around pedestrians and forklifts to reduce the risk of accidents. A fixed-site version monitors accident-prone areas, such as high-traffic aisle intersections and a mobile version monitors danger zones of up to 25 metres around moving vehicles (both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-person).
