The Delivery Conference reveals speaker programme

MetaPack, the global leader in eCommerce delivery technology, is gathering leading lights from the retail and carrier industries to present at The Delivery Conference (TDC18) on Tuesday, 30th January at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster, London.

The event plays host to speakers of the highest calibre. The eCommerce and customer experience stream will include: Marianne Roessler, Senior Director Business Solutions Omni-Channel at adidas Group; Quinten Francken-Bosman, Group Shipping & Procurement Director, Photobox; Alistair Stirling, Industry Head, Retail, Google; Justin Irvine, Commercial Director, SEKO Omni-Channel Logistics; Thibaud Lecuyer, COO & Co-Founder, Dafiti and Olivier Theulle, COO, Fnac Darty. Dino Rocos, Operations Director at John Lewis will also address the conference later in the afternoon.

Patrick Wall delivers keynote

TDC 2018 will open with a keynote address from Patrick Wall (pictured), Founder and Director at MetaPack, in which he will take the audience through the 2017 peak performance and highlight major year-on-year trends in eCommerce delivery. He will include key conclusions from MetaPack’s recent consumer research and give MetaPack’s view of noteworthy eCommerce trends over the next three years. Following Patrick will be keynote addresses from Sir Ian Cheshire, Chairman, Debenhams, Nick Wheeler, Founder and Chairman at Charles Tyrwhitt and Dr Ludwig Hausmann, Partner at McKinsey &Co.

The topics of Brexit and customs, and the implications of GDPR for eCommerce will be discussed at two separate roundtables taking place during the lunchtime session. Delegates can also listen to a panel discussion on European Logistics in the afternoon, which will feature Pierce AB, Hilti and Arvato and a retailer perspective session immediately after featuring Shop Direct, Asda, ASOS and River Island.

With the focus very much on practical advice and insight, the Solutions Theatre will deliver a range of speakers and topics. MetaPack’s growth trajectory continues through record peak

MetaPack, the global leader in eCommerce delivery technology, has announced record revenues for calendar year 2017 and has achieved profitability in every month, reinforcing the value of its continuing investment programme.

The fourth quarter of 2017 also saw MetaPack increasing its catalogue of carriers to 450 across its global network, further expanding the international range of services it can offer up to 5000, while adding new eCommerce retailers and brands into its customer portfolio.

Peak performance

MetaPack helped leading retailers, brands and carriers deliver a total of 70 million parcels during another successful Peak, representing an increase of 25% in delivery volumes compared with the previous year.

“Peak volumes far exceeded our expectations however, we were prepared and were able to scale in order to meet the demands of our retailers and carriers during the period,” commented Steve Rowley, Executive Chairman at MetaPack.  “Much of this was because we have invested significantly in our technology over the past two years, which ensures that the delivery platform is robust, even during unexpectedly high peak volumes. Our healthy financial position will allow us to invest further in new products and technology throughout 2018”

Solution launches

The development of two significant new products was completed at the end of the quarter and MetaPack will be using The Delivery Conference as a forum to introduce these to the market.

The first of these, Delivery Intelligence is designed to give retailers and brands a clear picture of delivery and carrier performance in real-time, providing accurate and highly valuable data from every stage in the delivery process. The MetaPack Carrier Mapping tool is a service that provides instant online access to comprehensive carrier information by origin, destination and type, allowing customers to make rapid, and informed choices about carriers, services and routes. The company also received an overwhelmingly positive response to its new returns portal launched at the end of the last quarter.
