A 120,000 sq ft Merseyside warehouse development has been launched by national logistics developer DB Symmetry and funding partner Barwood Capital.
The Aquila 120 unit is at Huyton Business Park in Knowsley, Merseyside.
Situated on a 9.4-acre site, the unit includes 100,926 sq ft of industrial space and 18,889 sq ft of office and amenity space. Other occupiers at the Park include: Halewood International; Olympic Oils; Parcel Force and Beesley & Fildes.
The developers acquired the plot in 2014 paying £5.2m. They have invested another £2.5m in the refurbishment, supported by £2.3m from the public sector, working with Knowsley council.
Darren Hill, associate director at CBRE, joint agents for the scheme with JLL, said: “There has been a huge amount of interest in Aquila. Located immediately adjacent to Junction 6 of the M62 and Junction 1 of the M57, just 6.5miles from Jaguar Land Rover, the scheme will act as an excellent location for the supply chain to the automotive industry.”
DB Symmetry are active elsewhere in the North West, with projects including the 2m sq ft Magnitude scheme at Middlewich. The development close to junction 18 of the M6 is already home to B&M Retail Limited, Wincanton and Kuehne + Nagel.
