During Safetember, organisations and associations are making loud voices to promote the issue of safety across warehouses. SHD profiles Rowlinson Knitwear, the UK's leading manufacturer of personalised schoolwear.
Rowlinson Knitwear is the UK’s leading supplier of personalised schoolwear. We manufacture plain, personalised and special knitwear garments for the schoolwear market, which is independent retailers across the UK and Ireland. We remain very ambitious and see huge potential for our business to grow. Our five-year strategy has three key aims: gain market share, enter new markets and investigate new products.
Gain market share - increase market penetration and attract new customers for our existing brands.
Enter new markets - realise the potential in new markets for our existing brands.
Research new products - based on customer demand and market potential.
Which safety feature are you most proud to have implemented?
We’re proud to have implemented a number of safety measures in recent years and prouder still that most of them have arisen from employee suggestions. In particular, a new employee suggested the installation of racking bars in our warehouse, preventing the possibility of goods and pallets being dislodged and causing injury.
What has been the result of your actions?
We’ve safeguarded all our employees and visitors against a possible health and safety incident. With such an extensive warehouse facility, we continually seek ways to improve all aspects of health and safety. Together with the introduction of pedestrianised walkways, bluelight technology on forklifts and proximity cards, we’ve made positive changes to our H&S operations.
