CollectPlus launches industry-first 'Social Send' service

CollectPlus, the UK’s largest independent store-based delivery and returns service, has introduced a new way to send parcels; making it even more convenient for online sellers who use mobile marketplaces to sell items and as a result, don’t have the buyers’ address details. Social Send is powered by the CollectPlus app and enables people to send parcels to others knowing only their email address, or phone number.

When Social Send is selected, CollectPlus does the hard work for the seller and the buyer, by automatically sending the recipient a link which allows them to select a convenient delivery location from any one of the 6,500 parcel points in the CollectPlus network.  This information is conveyed back to the Sender who can then drop off the parcel at their local CollectPlus store, where they can even have the label printed for them if they do not have a printer at home.

The recipient will be notified when the parcel has reached its destination and is ready to pick up and CollectPlus also provides the sender with proof of delivery.  Parcels can be tracked by both parties and they are kept safely for collection at the destination parcel point for up to 10 days.

Social Send makes missed deliveries a thing of the past and offers the recipient peace of mind and full control over their delivery. The service is priced from £4.99, with 3 to 5-day delivery including £50 of transit cover as standard.

This CollectPlus service has been tailored to suit the needs of modern consumers to whom time is increasingly valuable, and efficiency is key.  Wherever they are in the UK, CollectPlus customers can enjoy a high level of convenience. Over nine million people live within 300 metres of a CollectPlus store, and across the UK over 91% of the UK population in urban areas live within a mile of theirs. In rural areas, 89% of the population are just five miles from their nearest CollectPlus store.
