Clipper Logistics - a recent winner of the SHD Logistics Awards for its work with John Lewis - has relocated from East Kilbride to a Glasgow business park in one of Scotland’s largest logistics deals of 2016.
Clipper Logistics relocated to 31,000 sq ft at Tannochside business park, eight miles south east of Glasgow and close to the new M8 motorway extension.
The deal was brokered by JLL on behalf of landlord Squarestone Growth LLP.
Clipper has signed a ten-year lease at a rent of £5.25 a sq ft.
Other tenants within the estate include Britvic, Lloyds British, Howden Plc, Kwik Fit and Stewart Milne Homes.
Although small by UK standards, the Clipper deal comes as the Scottish market sees just a handful of deals over 50,000 sq ft. According to Knight Frank there was just one in the first half of 2016 - Mention Media taking 75,000 sq ft in Glasgow.
However, small-scale speculative development is planned at Patrizia’s Evolution Court, Hillington, and at a handful of other locations around Glasgow.
