Newly opened Antwerp LCL gateway provides direct access to New York
CEVA Logistics has announced the launch of a new guaranteed weekly LCL (Less-than-Container Load) service from Antwerp, Belgium, to New York, USA. This new service adds to CEVA’s already comprehensive LCL offerings which have been growing rapidly since the end of 2011.
The new service, with a transit time of 11 days, provides faster cargo availability at destination and more control over the cargo, with CEVA offering more own and dedicated LCL services which provide customers with a higher degree of visibility and predictability. Further direct weekly services will be added from Antwerp throughout 2015, establishing the location as a key hub within CEVA’s LCL and Ocean Freight network.
“The opening of our LCL gateway in Antwerp provides CEVA with a greater opportunity to provide our customers with a wide range of destinations and LCL services. Strategically located in Europe and well connected with our Ground and Air Freight networks, it’s ideally placed as an operational hub. We look forward to further increasing the number of destinations served to allow our customers greater flexibility and choice,” said Ferwin Wieringa, CEVA’s Vice President Freight and Transport Management, Benelux.
The new service is a direct sailing, with door-to-door delivery services also available, and benefits from access to CEVA’s integrated supply chain services and CEVA offices at origin and destination so customers are assured of the same high service levels. CEVA ensures end-to-end tracking to provide customers with visibility of where their cargo is at any point during the shipment. In addition, there is also the option for customers to benefit from expedited delivery through CEVA’s Ground trucking network.
