Case study: Irish Yogurts and LPR UK

Case study: Irish Yogurts and LPR UK

Background

An award-winning, premium yogurt manufacturer, Irish Yogurts is based across two state-of-the-art facilities in Clonakilty, West Cork.

Established in 1994, Irish Yogurts is now a nationally recognised brand, supplying high-quality dairy products to all of Ireland’s leading retail groups. The family-run business also exports its goods to the UK and Germany, and, recognising the growth of private label products on supermarket shelves, also produces a wide range of yogurts under different brands for major Irish retailers.

The challenge

With a presence in all Irish retail chains, and a steady export business to the UK and mainland Europe, Irish Yogurts needs to work with a responsive pallet pooling expert, with a multinational presence. Because of the nature of the products, Irish Yogurts also needs a provider that can offer a highly efficient service, minimising the amount of time it takes to get the stock from factory to shelf.

The solution

Adrian Fleming, regional director at LPR UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve worked with Irish Yogurts for almost five years now, and in this time have seen the size and scale of their business expand. Our expertise within the FMCG sector means we can offer frontline support in helping maintain the brand’s status as Ireland’s premier yogurt manufacturer and exporter.

“Irish Yogurts joined us after tenures with a number of other pallet pooling businesses. One of the key things the team at Irish Yogurts was looking for in a pallet partner was a greater level of responsiveness and interaction – an area of particular strength for LPR.

“Thanks to our extensive experience working with some of Europe’s leading FMCG brands, we’re able to provide solid experience and know-how for Irish Yogurts. We’re excited to further help them expand their presence, both in Ireland and overseas.”

The outcomes

John Murray, who works closely with LPR at Irish Yogurts, said: “Since the start of our contract with LPR, we’ve been consistently impressed with the high-levels of customer service and top-quality pallets. LPR’s responsiveness and efficiency is exactly what we were looking for in a pallet pooling partner, and we’re looking forward to continuing our relationship.”
