Cartwright Group and Transdek UK join forces in exclusive agreement

The Cartwright Group and Transdek UK have today announced an exclusive licence agreement between the two organisations focused on building a partnership for the development and volume production of pioneering, value added fixed double deck trailers.

This exciting new partnership will bring together Transdek’s innovative designs with Cartwright’s value engineering expertise and 64 years of manufacturing excellence.

In a unique game changing initiative for the industry, Cartwright will add Transdek’s fixed double deck trailer products and features into its extensive product range engineered and manufactured at the company’s 40 acre complex.

The agreement will combine sales and marketing resource. Transdek will continue to develop innovative concepts and specialist fixed double deck trailer prototypes as part of the partnership.

Included under the agreement will be Transdek’s Urban and Wedge double deck trailers, both of which provide up to 100% extra load compared to conventional, single deck equivalents. A multi-temperature version of the Wedge trailer won the TCS&D Award for Innovation 2015.

Both organisations are committed in the partnership to promote the most efficient road transport products by increasing load volumes in order to cut costs, road miles and CO2 emissions.

Mark Cartwright, Group Managing Director of Cartwright, commented: “This new venture is very exciting for both Cartwright and Transdek and creates a partnership which will maximise the complementary skills of both organisations in terms of high quality, innovative design, value engineering and market leading customer service .

“Transdek shares many of the same core strengths, vision and values for which Cartwright is renowned. The new relationship with Transdek is an exciting opportunity to add to our existing product range and to develop new sectors of the market.

“We are a market leader in the production of moving double deck trailers and like Cartwright, Transdek has a proven track record as an innovator. Between us we have a better and more comprehensive understanding of the double deck trailer sector than anyone else in the industry. We see the combination of our manufacturing scale and experience, alongside our flexible finance and rental options, with Transdek’s innovative flair and fixed double deck expertise, as a winning formula which will have a major impact on the industry.”

Mark Adams, Managing Director at Transdek UK, said: “Cartwright is the ideal partner as they have one of the most efficient bodywork and trailer manufacturing plants in Europe, along with a rental fleet of over 5,000 trailers. This capability will help drive forward the volume production of fixed deck double deck trailers that incorporate our innovative design features.

“Cartwright has the production capacity to manufacture larger volumes of trailers and expand its product offering under a licensing agreement that will enable us to focus on our core activities of design and development of sustainable fixed double deck trailers, along with our loading bay lifts and associated services. We are delighted to be working closely with them.”

Attendees to the CV Show can find out more about the benefits of fixed double deck trailer solutions over single deck and the advantages of the new partnership by visiting Cartwright or Transdek on stands 3A90 and 3C98 respectively. The first ever Cartwright Conversions stand at the CV Show is in Hall 5 (5F69) and Transdek will also be exhibiting one of its latest vehicle-to-ground (V2G) double deck lifts on stand 3B100.
