Amazon could take a second – and even a third - North West warehouse.
A week after the internet retail giant signed up for a 645,000 sq ft warehouse at Airport City, Manchester, Amazon are believed to be close to taking 100,000 sq ft in Merseyside – and are understood considering a third M6 corridor warehouse of up to 400,000 sq ft.
Amazon have already been busy in the M6 motorway property market, recently signing up for 120,000 sq ft at Leyland.
The new warehouses come as Amazon gears up to launch its Prime Now service in Greater Manchester. The one-hour same-day service is already operating in London, Birmingham and Newcastle.
Amazon is also expanding its product lines, launching a new service offering business, industrial and scientific supplies.
Amazon declined to comment on the speculation about a third North West depot.
