Food logistics specialists Bidvest Logistics has confirmed it has signed a long-term agreement with KFC UK & Ireland to provide renewed supply to up to 350 of their restaurants in the north of the UK, effective 26 March.
This development comes after DHL, which took over the UK distribution contract from Bidvest, ran into trouble with its supply chain operations last month, with as many as over 600 of KFC restaurants having to shut down with chicken having failed to be delivered to its outlets.
Bidvest’s Paul Whyte commented: “We are delighted to welcome KFC back to Bidvest Logistics. As the UK’s leading foodservice logistics specialist we understand the complexities of delivering fresh chicken. KFC is a valued customer and we will provide them with a seamless return to our network.”
