110918 Whirlwind BDA Liebherr Final Cut
BDA Logistics Innovation along with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machinery, Liebherr GB, has been shortlisted in the “Innovation” category at this year’s The Logistics Awards.
The awards, which are in association with SHD Logistics magazine, are an annual celebration of excellence in the logistics and supply chain sectors and recognise the most impressive achievements throughout the industry over the past 12 months.
To demonstrate the efficient and innovative partnership between Liebherr and BDA, a new video has been produced ahead of the awards evening to be held later this month.
Liebherr GB approached BDA after recognising the need for a more reliable ‘next day’ delivery service. Thanks to their unique air freight and road distribution capabilities, BDA were able to offer a bespoke delivery solution that would allow spare parts deliveries to occur ‘through the night’ directly from the LLG central logistics hub in Oberopfingen, Germany. Deliveries are made before 8 am to the Liebherr head office, satellite depots, engineers homes and direct to customers
Kevin Turner, Group Managing Director at BDA Logistics Innovation, said: “We have demonstrated great patience in working closely with Liebherr over the past several years to come up with the right solution. BDA and Liebherr have made decisions together that have impacted on inventory levels in the UK and really made a difference.”
“I believe that Liebherr’s customer service levels have shot up and I think that their engineers would say that not only have our services dramatically improved their own service to the customer but also it has reduced the amount of time spent hanging around waiting for parts.”
“The whole process is a lot more efficient and I think we are rightly situated in the innovation category – together we have shown great innovation and I am really confident that we will win the award on the night!”
The award winners will be announced on Thursday 20th September 2018 at The Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe, London.
