Since formation in 1996, the company has built an enviable reputation for providing specialist labelling and integrated safety solutions, tailormade for its customers individual requirements.
From its formation, it has consistently developed its products and services to ensure it continues to provide the best help to its clients. Along the way it has weathered some tough times, including the infamous credit crunch and recession of 2008 and all too recently, the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yet each time the company has been challenged, it has remained true to its ethos of listening to and understanding the needs of its customers and clearly defining the solutions that match their requirements.

ASG Services was founded as a supplier and installer of racking and shelving location labels and quickly established manufacturing facilities at its then base in Manchester to meet growing demand for its products. Building on a reputation gained by supplying logistics businesses such as XPO, Wincanton, DHL and Co-op, the business developed and grew to the point where it now supplies a range of different labelling and integrated safety solutions across the UK and Europe.
By 2008, the company had begun to diversify and had established its own safety solutions division, providing personnel protection and netting systems for warehousing. That year also saw the arrival at the business of Chris Hopkirk, the current sales director of Westbrook Industrial.
In 2010, the company gained major recognition after it was chosen by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) as a preferred supplier for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
By 2011, the company had opted to diversify and established Warehouse Partners as the trade brand for the company. The following year, the company changed its name to Westbrook Industrial, while retaining both the ASG Services and Warehouse Partners marketing brands.
Then in 2013, the introduction of the Satech Machine Guarding, rounded off the range of safety products. This meant ASG could now provide products for both the warehousing and manufacturing industries.
In 2015, The HUT Group awarded the company one of its largest ever contracts, worth c.£1.2m, to help equip its new flagship distribution centre at Omega, Warrington. The Hut Group is a British e-commerce company headquartered at Manchester Airport. It operates over 100 international websites selling Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) direct to the consumer through its proprietary e-commerce platform. The company has continued to supply the group, with the contract now worth c.£1.5m.
Rounding off a successful year, the company was also named as one of the finalists in the British Excellence in Sales Management Awards (BESMA). The company was eventually named runner up in the Sales team of the Year category. The awards are organised by the Institute of Sales Management and recognise the valuable contribution the sales profession makes to the UK economy.
Not that the company is a stranger to awards. Down the years it has achieved considerable success, gaining ‘Investors in People’ accreditation and back in 2003 was recognised by Manchester Chamber of Commerce (the largest chamber of commerce in the UK) in its annual business awards, being awarded runner up in the ‘Best Small Business’ category and winning both the categories of ‘International Trade Development’ and ‘Member Company of the Year’.
In 2013, it also secured the prestigious ‘Safe Contractors’ accreditation, reassuring customers of its aspiration to not only supply safety products but to install them safely as well.
In 2017, with demand growing for the ‘Back of Rack’ Safety netting system, the company carried out a physical testing project to assimilate and gather data on what would happen in the event of a ‘push through’ pallet racking accident. Following the system testing, the company committed to manufacturing its own netting. A decision which prompted a move to new premises, two and half times larger than its former base.
Also in 2017, with the positive testing results, Westbrook Industrial Ltd gained a worldwide patent licence from Gripple for use of Gripple technology in the vertical market of pallet racking safety systems.
By 2020, ASG Services had been supplying line marking, physical barriers and safety signs to warehouse operators as part of its core services for years. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic saw new demands placed upon warehouse operators, many having to ensure essential services could continue to operate.
The demands saw ASG Services react quickly to the new requirements and augment its products range with items including safety signage, anti-viral desk screens, hazard tape and hand sanitiser, thereby ensuring an integrated safety solution was available to all customers needing it.
Inspired by the epic fundraising efforts of Captain Tom Moore and in recognition of efforts of everyone at the NHS to keep people safe during the pandemic, ASG Services agreed to donate £1,000 to the charity NHS Charities Together for every 500 packs of the new social distancing signage sold.
