AR Racking achieves EN-1090

AR Racking is now certified according to EN-1090, a mandatory standard for steel structure manufacturers within the European Community as per Regulation No 305/2011 of the European Parliament.

Having obtained this certification, AR Racking, a heavy-load storage solutions company, demonstrates the high qualification of personnel and the manufacturing quality of its rack-clad industrial steel systems, the product targeted by this standard.

For rack-clad buildings, the rack is part of the building structure, bearing much higher load than a conventional warehouse. The load of the stored goods adds up to the load of the outer walls and external actions such as wind and snow. Most of these warehouses use automated systems and robots for handling goods.

In order to get compliant with the EN-1090 certification, AR Racking has completely satisfied the stringent requirements of the standard regarding materials, welding, cutting, forming and surface treatments. As part of the certification process, tests were carried out for all affected processes, including inspections of the welding process. Our company has also obtained the ISO-3834 certification, involving the implementation of a quality system in the welding process, both in-house and for contracting companies.

Enrique Bellido, Quality Manager at AR Racking, explains that “this certification is the result of excellent teamwork with best responsiveness; it also implies that our processes are top quality.”
