ABI Research analyst joins Logistics Awards judging panel

Nick Finill, Senior Analyst ― Intelligent Supply Chain at ABI Research, joins The Logistics Awards panel to judge the Technology Transformation category.

As a Senior Analyst, Nick Finill contributes to ABI Research’s Intelligent Supply Chain service. Nick’s research coverage focuses on how supply chain operators and logistics service providers can leverage transformative technologies to increase intelligence, visibility and efficiency across their operations.

SHD: Which technology areas are the most challenging for logistics operators in 2019? Can you provide examples of how your clients are tackling this?

IMHX 2019

Nick Finill: The greatest challenge is creating a fully connected, AI-driven approach to supply chain management that integrates processes and decision-making across the board, allowing the organisation to see the bigger picture. As companies invest more in robotics, automation and IoT, this need becomes greater but also more complex. A more integrated and intelligent approach to supply chain planning allows businesses to know exactly how decisions relating to distribution, shipping, replenishment, inventory, sales, marketing and more, will impact the bottom line of the entire organisation. Getting this right means more profitability from automation strategies in warehousing and transportation, another major pain point in the supply chain.
