A total of 750,000 sq ft of big box warehouse deals are on the brink of completion in the North West, as the region faces a growing shortage of modern units.
Research by Warrington-based niche industrial property specialists B8 Real Estate says take-up in the region’s warehouse sector for the first half of 2016 was 1.4m sq ft (9 transactions) slightly down on the 1.7m sq ft recorded in the same period in 2016.
Jon Thorne agency specialist at B8 commented that “In H2 we expect to see 3 new speculative big box units start on site providing an additional 488,000 sq ft to the 1.12m sq ft of new build space still remaining. Although the numbers are large this is still less than 12 months take-up and we are still seeing good levels of demand across the region.”
