The 59 acre Avlon Works site at Avonmouth – one of the South West’s top logistics development sites – has been sold to Mountpark Logistics ahead of a 1.3m sq ft scheme.
Mountpark acquired the site from Astra Zeneca UK, and once developed could see a single unit as large as 1m sq ft. Site preparation works will start immediately with construction due to begin early next year. Buildings could be ready for occupation by the end of 2019.
Close to the new M49 junction – now under construction - the site is also close to the M4, M5 and M48 motorways. Intermodal facilities are offered by the docks at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury, together with the nearby rail freight terminal.
The site is a stone’s throw from the existing Mountpark Bristol scheme, which has full planning permission for 400,000 sq ft of logistics space and is available on a build-to-suit basis.
DTRE London and JLL Bristol are acting for Mountpark. Stoford is the Development Manager for both Mountpark sites.
