As much as 275,000 sq ft of new floorspace has been delivered in London, thanks to the East Plus partnership between the city’s mayor and developer Segro.
The partnership – formed in 2016 – reveals its outputs as parcels carrier DHL signs for a 51,00 sq ft unit at Newham in partnership premises.
Over the next 20 years SEGRO expects London will need much more industrial space for ecommerce and logistics in order to keep the capital’s economy running.
Part of the then- Mayor’s vision for East London, East Plus is the redevelopment of 86 acres of brownfield land across Newham, Barking & Dagenham and Havering, set to deliver
1.4 million sq ft of modern industrial space over the next 10 years, acting as a catalyst for the wider regeneration of London Riverside.
