A 1.4m sq ft M6 warehouse scheme has taken a step forward.
Bericote’s plans for a £150m development at Haydock have been given the green light by planners.
The site is one of three large Haydock development sites, attracted to the town by its proximity to junction 23 of the M6, M62 and A580 East Lancs roads.
Earlier this spring Peel Logistics have announced plans for a 1.6m sq ft development, whilst whilst Langtree now has control of the 230-acre Parkside colliery site, a complex prospect which was once thought to need a motorway junction all of its own.
A report to planners says CBRE calculate that, at January 2017, the North West had sufficient Grade A logistics floorspace to last just nine months. There are no Grade A buildings of 400,000 sq ft currently available in the North West, they say.
Bericote say the scheme would be well placed to take advantage of the new Liverpool super port.
