Job Description.

Stateside Foods Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Shift Manager for its fast-growing automated chilled food manufacturing business based in Bolton.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a role model for all agreed  management practices, managing, guiding, and coaching direct reports whilst demonstrating best practices at all times
  • Liaise with hauliers and outside contractors to ensure inbound and outbound service levels are maintained at the highest levels
  • Building effective relationships with other Managers and Departments
  • Manage the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of all materials and finished goods
  • Allocating and managing staff resources to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Ensure perpetual inventory is carried out as per inventory schedule
  • Monitor hygiene and housekeeping and promote a clean as you go policy
  • Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe working order
  • Control materials and finished goods, ensuring correct stock rotation
  • Arrange and conduct monthly review meetings with outside service providers
  • To perform any other task that is of a reasonable request in line with the Logistics department

Knowledge, skills & experience

Being such a key role, applicants must possess the following:

  • Be computer literate & have knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (essential)
  • Have experience of managing in a Warehousing/Logistics Role
  • Be Self-Motivated – Ability to work without supervision
  • Have effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to manage and influence opportunities for continuous improvement and change
  • Ability to contribute to enable the logistics team to meet deadlines
  • Experience with SAP Desirable
