Wincanton Business Optimisation and Transformation Director Marcos Hart has been confirmed as one of this year's SHD Logistics Conference speakers, held at London's British Museum on Tuesday 17th April.
Titled tomorrow’s logistics: harnessing the power of cross-sector innovation, Hart will address Wincanton's W2 Labs initiative - a new programme aimed at challenging start-ups from around the world to develop innovative solutions to logistical challenges. With technology development rife, Hart will seek to uncover how companies of all sizes can embrace innovation, and whether business should be looking for ideas externally or within their own organisation.
"Our world is changing around us - from robotics to predictive analytics, automated vehicles to artificial intelligence, it’s clear our lives and workplaces will be drastically different in the future," Hart (pictured above) told SHD Logisitcs. "To take advantage of the opportunities in our industry today, and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow, Wincanton has embraced innovation.
"As we position our industry to meet the changing demand of our customers, their consumers and our colleagues, effective collaboration between established businesses and new thinking is vital."
Hart was appointed Business Optimisation and Transformation Director on 17 April 2016, having been the Project and Risk Director from October 2014 to April 2016, and is responsible for the health and safety, sustainability, business optimisation, transformation, efficiency and innovation across the organisation. Prior to joining Wincanton Marcos held senior positions in Carillion, Fujitsu and Severn Trent Water.
Hart will join Ocado Head of Robotics and Autonomous Systems Alex Harvey, Pharmacy2U Head of Pharmacy Naila Dad, and Think Logistics chair Beverley Bell, CBE, as well as a currently unconfirmed Amazon UK speaker.
