Unipart wins five year contract with Kimberly-Clark Europe

Unipart has agreed a new five year contract with Kimberly-Clark Europe to operate Kimberly-Clark’s three UK distribution sites: Barrow in Cumbria, Chorley in Lancashire, and Northfleet in Kent.

The sites include two automated Regional Distribution Centres with over 1.2m square feet of warehousing space, and will transition to UTL, one of the Unipart Logistics divisions within Unipart Group, from the current provider on the 8th September.  Unipart expects a significant number of new roles to be created as a result.

According to Kimberly-Clark, the company selected Unipart due to the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and engagement through the Unipart Way. They believe that UTL delivers exceptional service, adds significant value, and brings innovation to their supply chain.

Kimberly-Clark is one of the 500 largest global companies with manufacturing facilities in 38 countries. They employ 58,000 people worldwide, with an annual turnover of $21 billion.

Frank Burns, managing director of Unipart Logistics, said: “This is a very significant contract for us and I am delighted to be working in partnership with Kimberly-Clark which is one of the largest and most well respected manufacturing companies in the world.”
