Record number of finalists for FLTA Awards

A record number of products and services – 27 in all, presented by 19 companies from across the globe – have been shortlisted by the Fork Lift Truck Association to compete in the hotly-contested categories of Environment, Ergonomics, Safety and Innovation in the Annual Awards for Excellence 2011.

Companies from the UK, Europe and beyond will vie to earn an Archie – long recognised as the most prestigious award in the materials handling industry. FLTA Chairman Martyn Fletcher says: “The FLTA Awards has always been a showcase of the highest achievers in the industry… and this year is no exception. This year’s finalists – our official Pick of the Year – represent the companies who have demonstrated innovation, a genuine understanding of their customers’ requirements and excellence in their particular field.

“Each has made a significant contribution to raising standards within the materials handling industry – which is the very aim of the Awards themselves. It is therefore all the more important that people vote, to recognise efforts of these companies, and to determine which products are the most deserving.”

Voting for Awards 2011 is now open. The public voting will take place exclusively online, allowing the FLTA to ensure that only valid votes are counted.

All users of materials handling equipment are strongly encouraged to vote. That includes all those who own or hire fork lift trucks, as well as those who manage, supervise or train fork lift operators – and, of course, the operators themselves, whose first-hand experience perhaps makes them the most discerning judges of all.

Just visit the Awards section of the FLTA website at www.fork-truck.org.uk/awards to find information on each of this year’s finalists and instructions on how to cast your vote online. The last day of voting is Wednesday 12th January 2011.
