Office Depot has appointed a new head of logistics, bringing together its transport and distribution departments.
Simon Parker joins the global provider of office supplies and solutions with more than 20 years’ experience in transport, logistics and large-scale distribution management.
Speaking of his ambitions for Office Depot, Simon said: “The challenge, as for any supplier, is to remain agile to the needs of the customer and responsive to the fast-paced changes affecting the supply chain in an on-going basis.
“Our competition is evolving and our long-term strategy must be to rationalise systems and platforms to make them as effective as possible.
He explained the aim of the company is to continue to provide a seamless supply chain and enterprise solution for its customers. "I’m delighted to be assisting in this process," he said.
Mike McCreesh, the company’s director of procurement and supply chain, said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Simon to the team. His experience in logistics will no doubt be of valuable assistance to our business and our efforts to drive efficiency and expertise in this field.”
