Ocado Head of Robotics and Autonomous Systems Alex Harvey (pictured) has been confirmed as the morning keynote speaker at the upcoming SHD Logistics Conference, held at London’s British Museum on Tuesday 17th April.
Harvey, who has been with the company since 2010, has wide-ranging responsibilities which includes the technology development of Ocado’s proprietary warehousing automation at the world’s largest online only grocery retailer’s technology division, Ocado Technology.
Entitled AI and robotics solutions to transform warehousing operational performance and competitiveness, Harvey’s speaking session at the SHD Logistics Conference seeks to discuss Ocado’s business approach of developing beyond state of the art AI and robotics systems that enable the complex warehousing and logistics operations for these UK based retailers and for the international retailers signed up to the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP), a technology licensing model.
Harvey will discuss many other pertinent themes regarding the company’s technology output in the morning keynote presentation:
- Swarm Behaviour – how Ocado’s new warehouse automation ensure the densest storage and retrieval system
- Pick and pack everything – the journey to create robotic systems to deal with a range of 50,000 items of every size, shape and texture
