Counting down to EDX 2018

Now in its 4th year EDX will immerse you in 2 jam-packed days of inspiring content, with 5000+ retail professionals under the same roof, seeking practical solutions for today’s most pressing challenges in Fulfilment and Final Mile. Innovations in click & collect handling systems to full-scale warehouse automation will be in full display.

EDX’s “Operational Excellence” track is all about making use of the latest technology innovations to make the best use of warehouse space, speed up delivery and improve customer experiences during peak delivery. Dave Crellin - Head of Online Operations at Sainsbury's – will give attendees a sneak peak at what excellent will look like in 2020: from evolving customers’ expectations to the ever-growing role of automation.

Quick and hassle-free returns are an expectation amongst customers but also a burden on retailers. Ever wondered how to efficiently handle returns and how to best deal with the “intentional returner”? Our panel featuring speakers from Ocado, Lovehoney, Narvar and Enclothed will dive into these questions and take attendees through how the latest delivery technologies can make returns a lot less painful.

The “Final Mile” track focuses on how retailers can use delivery as a key competitive lever and how customer expectation will change in 2020. Chris Haighton - Head of Outbound Logistics at Shop Direct Group – will take attendees through delivery tracking as a key differentiator for retailers, including the steps even the smaller players can take to allow customers to track their deliveries.

The next few years will bring more changes for retailers. Our panel, ‘How Will Delivery And Customer Convenience Change By 2020 And What Should You Do Now To Prepare?’ covers the ins-and-outs of how customers think and how the latest technologies can help retailers of all sizes meet their expectations. Featuring speakers from Approvedfood, Everything5pounds, Screwfix and Findmeagift, discover the latest in returns, driverless cars, robotics and other state-of-the-art delivery technologies that once belonged in sci-fi films.

Beyond the two conference tracks, EDX & IRX boasts 300+ exhibitors, 30 workshops and a number of one-to-one clinics, giving everyone a chance to experience the latest and greatest in the flesh. Exhibitors such as BRINGG, Royal Mail, Hermes, UKMail and Narvar will bring the latest solutions in all areas of delivering, from packaging to tracking, shipping and automated retail systems… look out for some live product demos too!

At the same time, the workshops and clinics will bring visitors in direct contact with industry experts with practical and training-focused tips to make the latest innovations work in the real world: from automated warehousing, handing returns hell and avoiding failed deliveries, these sessions taking place across the two days are simply unmissable.

To top it all off, there is the Official After Party, at a great venue, packed with free-flowing drinks. A great reward for all the learning.
